After we lost our male cat in August our other cat was lonely without her companion. We decided to get another kitten. I had heard about Pixie Bobs before and started reading as much information as I could find on the breed. We chose a Pixie Bob for their known personality traits. They are very confident, outgoing and bond very well with their humans and with other pets in the family. They train easily to a harness, learn to like riding in the car and follow you everywhere. I searched on the internet for breeders in Washington State. Legendkatz had kittens available so I made an appointment to meet the owner and the kittens. First impressions mean a lot. When I walked in the door I was enthusiastically greeted by adult Pixies who had never seen me before. They came right up to check me out and be petted and scratched. All of the adult cats and kittens are in a loving home environment, not caged. It really shows in their personalities. The Owner introduced me to everyone, and since I Was interested in a male, she had just the male kittens out for me to look at. We talked Pixies while I looked them over. I was very impressed with how the kittens are raised. They have a lot of human contact and spend time around the adult cats to. The kittens are well socialized with humans and proper cat behavior. I Fell in love. Henry came home to live with us the following week and he is a doll. He made friends within a few days with our 11 year old dog. They actually ruff and tumble play together. Henry instigates the play as much as the dog does. The adult cat was slower in accepting a little upstart. Henry, being used to interacting with adult cats was not afraid of her. He continued to try and make friends but respected her space. It took him 4 weeks to finally woe her and they play all the time now. Henry follows my husband and me around everywhere in the house. When he's not busy exploring and playing, his favorite place to be is cuddled up in our arms for a nap. We're Pixie Bob smitten and very pleased with our kitten from LegendKatz. Potto1@comcast.net

I had 4 cats, well into their senior years (over 15 years old)
and knew that soon I would need to say good-bye and find replacements. I saved
an article from the Seattle Times about this new breed of cat called a
Pixie-Bob. I saved it because it spoke of how intelligent they were and seemed
to be a cat with a dog personality. That intrigued me because my 4 cats,
although a pound-kitty, mom and her 3 kids were rather smart and each did a
couple tricks in addition to coming when called. I had to have a new cat that
was above average and out of the ordinary.
Well, almost 2 years ago that time came. Time to find a new companion. I
remembered that article on the side of the fridge and began the search for the
Pixie-Bob. I found a few local breeders with web sites and made appointments to
see what they had. I won't bore you with the rejects. LegendKatz came out ahead
in so many ways and the wonderful little fur balls I have are a testament to
that.
My first impressions were, well, a little intimidating - but in a good
way. I don't think I had ever been in a house so clean! That was a very good
sign. No dirt - no hair - no fleas - and no smell. Cats coming from this
environment must be clean and healthy (and when I finally took my new kitties to
my vet, Dr. Kraabel agreed 100% - perfect, healthy kittens.) Terri spent a lot
of time with me. She brought out the prospective additions to my family in a
cozy, clean kitty bed. What really impressed me about Terri was her knowledge of
the breed and the time she took to answer every question I had. She told me
about the parents of the kittens, what they were like and even how other kittens
were doing in their new homes. There were cat toys and feather sticks for them
to play with. I could see these kitties had a lot of attention and stimulation -
which we know is so important for the development of baby kitties. But while I
was checking out the kittens, she was doing her own investigation, too.
While talking about the kittens, Terri asked about my past cats - what they were
like, what I liked about them, what their personality was like and what I wanted
in a cat. All this was to know me better. You see, Terri really cares about her
kittens. Knowing what kind of life the kittens will have is important to Terri
because she is not just a breeder that sells kittens, she is like their
grandmother and knows every life is precious. Kittens must go to a loving,
caring home. (As you can guess, I passed!) I made a few visits to LegendKatz and
selected a cute gray girl and a mischievous looking boy. Until they were old
enough to come home, Terri let me visit them so they would get to know me and we
knew all of us would get along as one happy family.
I must say that once Pixie and Stitch came home, life changed forever. There
must be something in a name. Pixie is the sweetest, cuddly girl you could
imagine. While Stitch, well, if you saw the cartoon "Lilo and Stitch" you know.
Stitch loves to get into things, just like the character in the movie. He can
even lick his nose - just like the cartoon character (and he does!). And he's
smart. While both kittens were leash trained, Stitch found where I kept the
leash. When he wants to go out for a walk, he beings it to me (no mater what
time of day or night). Pixie likes to go out, too. Often when Stitch brings me
the leash, Pixie is smart enough to beat Stitch and me to the door. So she gets
rewarded by going out first. Someday I will be able to walk both together, but
for now they like to go indifferent directions and at a different speed. Oh,
well, no one said walking a cat would be easy! It is fun! Something just doesn't
sound right when I tell my friends I have to go home and walk the cat. But that
kind of thing is what I wanted: a cat that definitely was not the normal, dull
cat.
Often a pure-bred cat has certain health issues to be aware of. Since Dr.
Kraabel never had a Pixie-Bob as a patient before, he wanted to know if there
were any special needs or things to be concerned about. Terri was so helpful in
educating Dr. Kraabel that even he was impressed. He said that Terri really knew
cats. How often does a vet give complements to a breeder?
Stitch is like no other cat. Besides bringing me a leash, he knows to
sit; stay inside; knows where the door is when I say "lets go inside"
and he does go to the door. After a walk, he goes inside sits down
inside the door so I can take the leash off (and Pixie does, too).
Stitch brings me the feather sticks and the snake stick (it looks like a long,
furry thing on the end of a stick, sold at the pet stores and
looks like a long tail if Stitch had one because it matches his fur).
Sometimes we play fetch with a furry ball. He follows me around the house and
whimpers at the door like a puppy when I'm outside. Like I said, Pixie and
Stitch are not normal, dull, lazy cats. They are fun, smart, cute and the best
brother and sister.
I can't imaging life without Pixie and Stitch. I tell everyone about
them and recommend Legendkatz to anyone wanting a new kitty. Terri loves the
periodic updates on these guys. I send her photos and tell stories of their
antics. They are so interesting that I think I have taken at least 500
photos of them. Then there are the hours of video of them playing with all their
toys. One video is on the LegendKatz site. They will be adding more and
when they add a section of humorous photos, you will really see what makes these
kitties so special. Words cannot describe the funny things these cats do.
In conclusion, I must say that if you want a smart, healthy cat that is
much more than a cat, you should go to LegendKatz. anyone is welcome to contact

PS: It tool a little time to get used to a cat with only a stub of a
tail. But once I did, I can't imagine ever going back to a cat with a
tail. They wag the tail just like a dog. So cute when they sit in the
window, watching a bird and the tail wags in proportion to their
excitement.
